'Cancer
is Only a Word' and 'One Lump or
Two' published in 1994 and 2001 respectively. The second book
now comes with the first edition published free on CDROM.
George Walker published his first book 'Cancer is Only a Word' in
1994 and the whole edition rapidly sold out.
It chronicled the period following the diagnosis in 1988 that he
had Lymphoma cancer (when Doctors initially thought that he only
had 3 months to live).
Read the introduction to One Lump or Two by Sir Thomas Allen and
the many reviews and comments on these two publications.
Do
you know a friend or relative who could benefit from reading George's
books? Book reviews and details on how
you can order copies direct from NEPAC.

| The
George Walker Appeal |
The
Scotland and Newcastle Lymphoma Group began in 1979 with the aim
of trying to organise lymphoma research for the combined population
of Scotland and Northern England representing 8.5 million people.
The Trustees of NEPAC have established a fund for a rolling research
post for a clinician or scientist to start in January 2004 to
take forward SNLG's understanding of the non-Hodgkin's lymphomas,
in memory of George Walker.
We
hope that you are able to support our venture.

The
Scotland & Newcastle Lymphoma Group (SNLG) was first
founded in 1979 when groups of doctors from Newcastle and the Northern
Region met with those from Edinburgh, Dundee and Aberdeen to decide
to collaborate and co-operate in the investigation and treatment
of people with lymph-gland cancers. During the course of the 1980s
the west of Scotland joined the group.
Find
out how the money raised has helped research and patient treatment.
